The upcoming 42nd edition of the International Tourist Fair, scheduled to take place in Jardines del Rey from 2nd to 5th May, has garnered significant interest from tour operators and travel agents across the Caribbean region and worldwide. They are keen to witness the industry's advancements in Cuba and its connections with other interested areas and nations.

According to officials from the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), more than 500 foreigners and 80 journalists from various continents and markets, with expectations to reach 1,000 participants, are anticipated to attend. The fair, hosted at the Gran Marena Cayo Coco Hotel, will showcase the sector's management, business opportunities, and professional prospects available in Cuba.

The Gran Marena Hotel, situated in Cayo Coco, was opened in December 2015, and has recently undergone significant renovations in anticipation of the event.

This luxurious five-star, all-inclusive resort boasts a wide array of dining options with its eight restaurants, along with 10 bars, seven swimming pools, 600 meters of private beach access, a state-of-the-art spa, conference and banquet facilities, an amphitheatre, and extensive garden areas, ideal for hosting group events.

Operating under the promotional campaign "Cuba is Unique," the event will highlight the tourist potential of Latin America, the Caribbean, and Russia, with particular emphasis on these regions while still addressing key markets like Europe.

The event will feature representatives from airlines, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, carriers, suppliers, and other industry experts, alongside a contingent of national and international journalists specialising in tourism.

The combination of Cuba's stunning 1,000 km of beaches, its heritage cities, natural terrestrial and underwater landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, hospitality, security, and rich historical and cultural heritage, renders it a truly unique destination.

Cuba offers a multitude of options for travellers, including ecotourism, sun and beach tourism, cultural and historical exploration, adventure, nature excursions, health retreats, conventions, rural experiences, and nautical activities. In TripAdvisor's Travelers' Choice Awards Best of the Best 2024, Cuba was ranked the top cultural destination globally and the second most popular destination in the Caribbean. Additionally, it secured the 18th spot among international gastronomic destinations. In 2023, Cuba was recognized as the top "Trendy Destination" internationally.

Varadero has consistently been among the top 10 beaches worldwide in recent years, while in 2023, Cayo Santa María beach ranked ninth and Playa Pilar in Cayo Guillermo ranked 12th. Furthermore, the specialized magazine Wanderlust bestowed upon Cuba the Gold award for the Most Desired Island in the World at the World Travel Market 2023.

Jardines del Rey boasts 40 kilometres of pristine beaches and nearly 10,000 rooms across approximately 30 hotels, aparthotels, houses, and bungalows on keys such as Coco, Guillermo, Paredón Grande, Antón Chico, and Media Luna. Just three miles from its shores lies the world's second-largest barrier reef, stretching over 400 km and teeming with marine life, including crustaceans, molluscs, turtles, dolphins, sharks, and 26 species of corals, all in excellent condition.
